This standout coffee is grown at Finca La Pachuca in Costa Rica’s Dota Valley, a region celebrated for its high-quality beans. Cultivated at 1,800 meters above sea level, it is the work of Roberto Mata Naranjo, a highly respected producer with nearly five decades of experience. Known for his leadership in sustainable farming and water conservation, Roberto now collaborates with his family, focusing on refined honey and natural processing methods.
This particular batch showcases his skill and innovation. Carefully harvested at peak ripeness, the coffee undergoes a 120-hour “Juicy Honey” fermentation, where residual fruit sugars from a previous batch enhance its sweetness. The result is a vibrant, fruit-forward cup with notes of red berries, pineapple, and chocolate, complemented by a smooth, silky body and a long, elegant finish.
